Antabuse.
Antabuse (disulfiram) is a special medicine that works to help people battle their alcohol addiction by causing adverse reaction if any amounts of alcohol are consumed. You are not supposed to take Antabuse and drink any amounts of alcohol, as that way unpleasant and even dangerous health effects are possible. Since Antabuse is a medicine used to discourage alcoholism, make sure you never use it soon after drinking any alcohol. The following symptoms are caused by Antabuse if you drink any amounts of alcohol: low blood pressure, flushing, fast heartbeats, thirst, nausea, chest pain, and vertigo. Make sure your doctor knows if you have any medical effects that can be contraindications in some cases. The following ones are especially important to mention: kidney disease, diabetes, mental disorders, thyroid disease, and liver disease. Make sure you talk to your doctor at once if you suddenly experience any side effects that are considered to be very serious and require immediate medical attention, such as yellowing of the skin or eyes, extreme tiredness, vomiting, dizziness, appetite changes, seizures, weakness. Inform your health care provider of any drugs you are using at the moment as interactions have been reported. The following ones are very important to mention: theophylline, antidepressants, isoniazid, benzodiazepine, phenytoin, monoamine oxidase inhibitors, and warfarin.
